John Cadwallader
PsyD, MA, LMHC, HSPP
I am a clinical psychologist and founder of Central Psychological Services. I have been doing clinical work for over 20 years. Frustrated by working in settings that compromised quality of client care for organizational demands or finances, I established CPS, LLC in 2008 with the goal of having freedom to provide quality comprehensive mental health services that focused on a collaborative approach for the client’s greatest good. I attempt to view clients holistically focusing on the dignity and intrinsic goodness of the human person. Treatment has a significant focus on understanding the inner and external conflicts that limit growth for relationships with self, family, others, and spirituality. My theoretical orientation is Psychoanalytic with the primary focus being rooted in Object-Relations theory. I have also been trained in Cognitive-Behavioral, Behavioral, Existential, Couple, Family-Systems, Trauma-Informed Care, and Geropsychology. My clinical work is limited to clients ages 18 years or older. I work with individuals, couples, and families in addition to psychodiagnostic assessment.
Many of the clients I serve are Catholic and choose to integrate the anthropology and teachings of the Catholic Church as part of their treatment. Clients do not need to be Catholic or Christian to work with me, and have the freedom to choose whether or not to integrate their spiritual beliefs. The treatment focuses on psychological science, not pastoral counseling.
